Make Your Rival Spend While you Challenge Him in XBOX Madden 10

If you're still unsure about Xbox Madden 10, then you need a trip through the football video game timeline, back to the beginning, to change your mind. Sure, there's something not right about saying a current game is great merely because it blows away its ancestors. But it helps to see how much progress has been made in football video games, by taking a glance at the earliest video games and comparing them to Xbox Madden 10. Certainly, there was a huge, untapped market for football video games, when the first generation of console games made their debut. Only problem was, the gamers' ideas on what a great football video game should be, versus the reality of the video game consoles' capabilities, made for a shaky compromise. Even then, the game companies were excellent at the hype, and kept boasting that this one boasted "all the excitement" of real football.

The characters on the gridiron are more suited to a sci-fi shooter than a football video game. What are you gonna do? And if the picture has you cringing, you can only imagine what the gameplay is like. Characters started flashing and blinking, thanks to the limited memory of the early game consoles and cartridges. Gamers used to the crisp aural sensation of today's games would be stunned by the lack of cool sound here. Again, things like the scrolling screen wouldn't be a required part of any game for a while yet. In a short matter of time, the competitors entered the video game console field, and brought out their take on a more realistic football video game. A serious effort was made with this next one, in order to give gamers a football video game closer to the real thing. However, it was still a bit primitive.

While it did tantalize the video game world with its improvements, it was still only a slight move in the right direction. Several years would pass before that came to pass. The next level in football video games had been reached, and still we're seeing a following for this one. Over the years, this was the yardstick by which all football video games were measured.

Can't argue with the fact that the hardcore gamers did take to this one - for the first time, the NFL got the red-carpet treatment from a football video game. It was an amazing evolution in football video games, and this one was really a major turning point. Today, there's even a new incarnation of the game, and with that is a renewed reverence for it. That being said, as much as everyone digs that one, Xbox Madden 10 is in an entirely different league.

It's always great to see how far we, and football video games, have come. We've had a few chuckles, but mocking less advanced video games isn't a productive use of our time. No need to keep harping on it. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Of course, Xbox Madden 10 has really kicked this one over the goal posts, which has the video game world pretty pleased. The fans aren't the only ones raving about Xbox Madden 10 - the critics have said their piece, and they're into it. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. EA Sports didn't even come close to fumbling the ball with Xbox Madden 10, that's for sure. There are always going to be the haters, but pay no attention - Xbox Madden 10 rules. Xbox Madden 10 isn't just a great Xbox sports video game - it's an all-around great Xbox video game. It's the favorite of hardcore gamers, and with good cause. Better still, the true gamers know that this is the arena which will separate the wheat from the chaff, after you play video games for money.

Now, Xbox Madden 10 fanatics can throw down the gauntlet and play video games for money. Once you've reached your apex of acumen, you'll be the one scoring big - and filling up your wallet in the process.
